Crying Out to God
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." -Psalm 34:18

Have you felt like you were crying out to God with seemingly no response? Has it felt like your prayers have gone unheard? We've all been there at one point in time or might experience the feeling later down the line. When I start to feel this way I remember that Psalm 34:18 reminds us that the Lord is near to the broken hearted and saves those that are crushed in spirit. Disappointment can sour a whole day, month, or even year.
Although it is important to take time to grieve, it is good to remember that we are not alone in this. John 14:16 reminds us that Jesus has given us the gift of having the Holy Spirit who is also referred to as the Comforter. God knows every tear and He knows the depth of your pain and suffering. When the going gets tough, lean on God. He is the Rock of our salvation: solid. He never changes and He never lies.
Although it can be difficult to identify why things may be happening in our lives, one thing we can take heart in is that if we surrender our will to the Lord we can begin to trust that He knows what the future is and that He has plans to prosper and not to harm us (Jeremiah 29:11). If you're going through something that you think no one knows or cares about, know that God knows and He cares so much it'd make our human bodies explode. He hears every prayer and whether or not you are aware, He's working on it right now. Keep your head up. "But take heart! I have overcome the world!" (John 16:33 NIV).
